Cladding in aged stonework for the bathrooms of rooms designed by Victorio & Lucchino
The Puerta América is a 5-star hotel in the centre of the Spanish capital city. This project brought together nineteen of the best architecture and design studios in the world to collaborate, four of them recipients of the Pritzker Prize (the Nobel Prize for architecture). Gramablack was responsible for welding and lining the interior of the walls and floors of the bathrooms of the rooms on the fifth floor and the entrance hall, with designs by Victorio & Lucchino. A total of 500 m2. The small pieces used in the baths give them an intimate, classic and relaxing character, similar to that of a spa resort. This classic touch is highlighted in the hall, where the cutting and dark tones of the aged stone is in tune with the geometric sobriety of the room and leaves the ornamental sphinxes and red armchairs to stand out.
Sustainable
Stone is a natural product that does not pollute or consume CO2 during its manufacturing process. Its carbon footprint is solely limited to the contributions derived from being processed in the factory and from transport. In addition, it is a 100% reusable and recyclable material, features that help minimise environmental impact.
