Air conditioning and power supply with 300 hybrid solar panels.
The Iberostar Royal Andalus Hotel is located on the Costa de la Luz in the coastal town of Chiclana de la Frontera (Cadiz, Spain). It is adjacent to one of the most accessible beaches in the country: La Barros. The 300 hybrid solar panels installed in 2020 on the roofs of the hotel have made this the largest installation of its kind in Spain. Thermal energy output amounts to 476,297 kWh/year and electric energy to 138,261 kWh/year. These facts have seen the hotel position itself as one of the most sustainable in Europe and attract environmentally conscious tourism while generating significant economic savings
Sustainable
The energy generated by these panels is 100% renewable and is mainly used to generate electricity and domestic hot water for the facilities, and to heat the pool available to its guests. Abora has estimated that investment in its hybrid solar panels will be amortized in seven years and that 204,785 kg of CO2 per year are no longer being emitted into the atmosphere. It is the largest hybrid facility in Spain
